Holiday parties are free! They are held at Crosby Park on selected Wednesdays in place of park day. They are always from 11am-1pm. There is always a need to help decorate for these parties. We bring pot luck items and share a meal along with a craft, activity or charity.
List of parties held in a typical year:
-Welcome Back party – First Wednesday that Crosby ISD starts. T Shirt Sales.
-Fall Party and Operation Christmas Child Charity – Usually held the third week of November.
-Christmas Party – Usually held the 2nd week of December. Santa is almost always present if one is afforable enough or if we get enough donations!
-Valentine’s Party – Held the Wednesday before Valentine’s day. Students bring a box to collect valentines and 30 valentine’s treat bags or valentines to share. 30 is always more than enough! They always leave with a lot! Cookie decorating or other craft is hosted.
Easter Party – Held Holy Wednesday, the Wednesday of Holy Week, the Wednesday before Easter. Parents bring taped, stuffed eggs with NO CHOCOLATE (it melts every year) to hide. Older students help read a story about Jesus and bunnies while another group of older students, lead by parents help to hide eggs. The children turn around and hunt for eggs. The younger children are released first OR a different direction than the younger so that no trampling happens.
End of the year party – It is a Crosby Explorers tradition to hold a nature class, a hike and a swim in Peach Creek at Lake Houston Wilderness park on the last Wednesday of May to close the year out!
