Research Suggestions for New Homeschool Parents

Easy Peasy is a comprehensive, complete and free homeschool curriculum that can be implemented either online or in workbook form, or a mixture of the two.
The high school level courses can be found here.
Masterbooks is my number one suggestion to new homeschoolers. It is workbook based, Charlotte Mason inspired, easy to grade and implement and usually costs about $200 per year. You can purchase videos to go along with some courses on Masterbooks Academy. These are usually $30-$50 per class but are well worth it.
Monarch is my suggestion to parents looking for a fully online curriculum. Lessons are in written form, online but the page can be read aloud to the student. Students can man this on their own, grades are kept in the computer. Parents have grading tasks that can be completed in about 5 minutes per day. Parents can set a calendar and reassign things that students need to look at again. This curriculum is $43 per month and $23 per month for the 2nd child. Very good. Not classical but gets top 3 rating for ease of use!

Karen Glass explains narration, which is a key feature in both Classical and Neo-classical educational philosophies. Narration of living books is pre-writing. It is public speaking. It is a skill that even adults would do well to perfect.
